Thomas Aquinas

(1224ish — 1274)

Aquinas is perhaps most famous for his five proofs (or “ways”) of God's existence. Although, let's be honest, the first three are pretty much the same and the fourth isn't massively original — so really it's more like Aquinas's two and a half ways.
